The analogy is absolutely right on . . . Maxine tells it like it is!!!!

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table ... everywhere! Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be.... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let's see. Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to "press one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

Wanna Party?!? Now Scheduling Portrait Parties!

Portrait Parties….another little excuse to have a PARTY and some FUN!

What is a Portrait Party?

Hosting or Attending a Portrait Party is an exciting opportunity for you and your friends to have professional portraits made in a fun and affordable way. Portrait Parties take place in your home, park, beach, or any other suitable location where each guest can relax, have fun, be comfortable and natural.
As a Host you will invite between 6 and 12 guest and their families (pet’s welcome if it’s all right with the Host). Each of your guest will be schedule for a 15 minute mini photo session. During your scheduled session we’ll go wild with creativity and shoot group, individual, or a combination of both.
The Host is rewarded for all the hard work to have the party and enjoys credits toward portraits or products for hosting. (The perfect time to earn credit for those higher priced products such as Albums and Canvas size Prints that you’ve always wanted!)
It is a low stress fun opportunity to have beautiful portraits made of yourself or your children in a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere.

What is the cost of a Portrait Party?

That’s the good part! The cool thing about a Portrait Party is that there is
NO SESSION FEE!

What are the Host/Hostess responsibilities?
Personally invite 6-12 guests to the location of your portrait party.
Schedule and confirm each 15 minutes photo session.
Provide an area inside and/or outside the house where photos will be taken.
It is the host responsibility to provide any refreshments for the guests.
Inform all guests when proofs are available and take their orders for prints.

The Portrait Party is organized by the party Host. The Party Host is the key ingredient to a successful party. Hosts invite guests, coordinate the bringing of snacks and drinks (if not providing themselves) and the scheduling of sessions. Successful hosts follow up with their guests with reminders and to ensure that every session block is filled to get the most portrait credits possible.
After the party, the guests will visit Jeannie’s Website to view their portraits. Once there you will enjoy a private password proctected gallery of your images. You may order directly online, or through your host. After all guests have ordered the host will then be able to place an order based on credits from their guests purchases.

Do I Receive Free Portraits If I Host A Party?

Absolutely. The primary benefit of hosting a party, aside from having an outrageous amount of fun, is to build enough portrait credits to pay for your families pictures. Some Hosts use the credits to buy portraits that they ordinarily wouldn't, like a large Canvas Prints, Coffee Table Albums, Collages, etc. While it is a bit of work, after hosting your first party you will quickly find yourself a portrait party junkie and be able to look back at the years of hosting parties with a wealth of beautiful Portraits capturing your most treasured memories decorationg your walls.

Guests are not required to stay after their session but may visit with the host or join any other activities that the host has provided.
Jeannie will provide the host with invitations for the guests and instructions with tips on what to wear based on the place ( indoor/outdoor location) and or backdrop (black or white) being used for the photo sessions. We may bring props for the sessions, but the host creativity can personalize the event even more!

Please remember that you need at least 6 in attendance to qualify for the initial free sessions.
Portraits from the sessions will be posted on the internet within 7 days of the Party. All orders should be placed within 14 days of the session being posted online. Order forms will be provided to the host to give to the guests.

What Kind of Portrait Parties are there?

Themes for Portrait Parties are only limited to your imagination. Jeannie is thrilled to try new ideas all the time. A few suggestions are:

Holidays (Christmas, Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day ect) / Birthday Parties / Maternity / Newborns / Babies / Playgroups / Pets / Couples / Soccer / Football / Seniors / Ballet / Dance / Holidays / Trick or Treat / Baseball / Tea Parties / Horse Shows / Reunions / Birthdays / Summer / Retro / Valentines /Bacherlette Parties / Ladies Night (Glamour - Boudoir) / Grandparents Day / Graduation / Summer Fun / Tea Parties / Prom Night / Band - Orchestra

Happy Easter!

When I was growing up, my grandma Cook always made our Easter so special! She spent so much time and thought into our day from coloring eggs, to hiding tiny candies and Money! Oh yes grandma spoiled us with the Easter money in those plastic hiding eggs. My cousins and I wouldn't be able to sleep the night before knowing Grandma was in a mood to make each Easter more special than the last. I loved how the entire family got together to spread the love, enjoy hanging out with each other, and Eat!
I miss those days as much as I miss my grandma. But hopefully I'll be able to pass on the love to my family just as I was taught.
Happy Easter, with much love, from my family to yours!

Happy Birthday Damian ! ~ 10

Damian has finally reached the double digits. He's trying to catch up with Sean, I just know. He's been really impatient to reach this milestone...and here it is!
Damian is the family outdoorsman. He get's it from me. Put us outside on a warm sunny day and we go exploring. Take us camping and we are in heaven. Let us ride horses and we are flying on air. Put him on the 4 wheeler and he's fearless. Damian has long been saying he want's to grow up to me an Army Man. He get's that from his Papaw. Since Damian is such and adventure seeker, and has long dreams of growing up to protect his country, it's best to start them young. For months now, Damian has been begging for a gun. oh boy! As a mom I can tell you I'm in no way ready for that! I'd prefer they stay this small and compliant forever!
So in order to meet him halfway in fullfilling his birthday wish......we opted to get him a nice ol' pellet gun. Hey, he's 10, it's all the same to him!

Dear Damian,
I love you more than words can say and I need you more than air! You are one of the reasons I live and breath.
Happy Birthday!
Love Mom

Little Man Logan is 3

Last Week another Milestone was recorded. Mr. Logan has turned 3 this winter. Logan is the big brother of Amber. Like his sister, he was napping when I arrived for his session. He was shy and sleepy at first, so I just started talking to him and snapping away, sleepy eyes and all. After a while, he relaxed and started having fun with it. By the end of the session he didn't even pay any more attention to the fact that I was documenting his every move. There are so many pictures I have such a hard time choosing which ones to edit to share with my blog readers. Logan and Amber are such beautiful, happy kids I could shoot them all day long.
Here are a few of my faves....
