I fired off my first shot and it was over exposed. I slowed down my shutter speed and fired off this shot and he was GONE!

Eddie just got home from a Reds baseball game he attended compliments of his brother Scott. I still hadn't taken my picture today and I had originally tried to get Willie to stand below our "beware of the dog" sign. Willie was not cooperating....so my darling husband agreed to play along with my idea. I LOVE it!! Thanks honey for putting up with all my wacky stuff.

This vase was my mothers day gift from Norman. After many oooohh's and aaahh's and thank you's, I tucked it away in a safe place. Today I wanted to surprise Norman with my display of his beautiful artistic creation. I made up this arrangement and called him so proud to show off what I'd done. He looked at it, looked at me and matter of fact explained.... Mom that was supposed to be your coffee cup!! ......doh!

Today I got brave and curious. I've been studying studio lighting from one of my favorite photographers, Zack Arias. As a portrait photographer I'm expected to know how to help my clients relax and have fun in front of my camera, but I have a fear of being in front of it myself. This year I'm determined to throw myself under the bus to get to know how it feels under this pressure. It's a lot harder than it looks to try set up your lights in a tight small space, focus on nothing, set your timer and then run around and jump in front of the lens in the right spot. Here's my attempt at it tonight.
