Boys will be Boys !!

A few weeks ago we spent the day letting the boys bond together doing what boys do best. Kicking aside all sibling rivalry and letting the adrenaline rush pumping through their bodies lead the way.
We ended up getting kicked out of the park...whoops....but still I managed to capture several images before we were given the boot. There's an old photographer saying...."ask forgiveness, not permission"......it's the first time I've ever had to utilize it...thank goodness it worked. LOL
There were so many photos that I wanted to share the only way I could show you a lot was to compile a couple slideshows....here a few of just the boys from our day...

Successful Autism Rally 08 !!

Despite the threatening thunder storms, the Autism Rally this weekend was a HUGE SUCCESS!
Pro Golfer Cliff Kresge was there along with PGA Professional Derek Kinzer of ViaQuest Foundation.
State Rep. Jon Peterson and State Rep. Kevin Bacon were also there. OSU Golf team was there showing their stuff! There were a host of other participants but I didn't catch the name of them all.
There was much fun and games for the kids, I know mine had a blast! They spent most of the time hangin by the Chic-Fil-A booth, teasing the Cow, eating the chicken and of course and keeping Matt the Balloon Guy extra busy! I have to say he was awesome! He was making things with those balloons that I didn't even know was possible!
Here a just a few snapshots of the day.

Eddie's Wall for Bob

We walked around the back yard just as the sun was peeking over the treetops. I saw the previous days work. There's no way he's getting this done today, I said to myself. That's a lot of work he has to do yet!
By the time the sun was rolling over the opposite end of the yard he was cleaning up. I stood there tired and hungry but simply quite impressed yet again.
Eddie just completed another masonry project. This was an upgrade from a previous project. He never fails to amaze me at his mastery of his craft.

It's not finished yet, Bob will now add a counter top and a grill for cooking out while relaxing by his outdoor fireplace....how romantic! As soon as it's completely finished Bob is having us back for a cook out...I'll get pics!

Eddie added another 2 feet to the chimney...can you tell?...nope...that's why it's magic!

Giving Back ~ Youth Prom Night

The Night was young, so were the guest. Anticipation could be seen swirling through the room like notes of music.
Girls batting their lashes, clutching each other by the hands. The young men standing to the side, chiding each other on. It was Prom Night! A night many of us dreamed about all through our adolescence. On the brink of crossing over the threshold to.... "the rest of our lives".
I was so honored to be asked to be a participant in such an extraordinary event of these fabulous young adults lives. I was heartbroken when later, after the Prom, I learnedthat each of these awesome kids live in group homes. I've never met a more deserving or more grateful group of teens.
The night was made possible by an entire team effort of volunteers from planning,
decorations, food, music, make-up and hair, photography, to pulling the entire night off without a hitch. I was able to test out my One Light set up for the first time. (I need more practice) LOL
