Tune for Tuesday ~ Drive ~
This weeks song to share.

"Drive" by Incubus

I've heard this playing on radio 106.7. Eddie was the first one to recommend the song for me to listen to. Love it!
Lyrics to your favorite station click here.So it's been a long road on my way back to a somewhat normal level of hearing. My brain knows the sounds, it's heard them before, but not for a long long long time. The audiologist said my brain needs to learn how to process the sounds again, and practice makes perfect.
I could not imagine what my world would be like without today's technology! I've been practicing learning how to listen by doing one of my favorite things of all time that I missed more than anything. Listening to music. Per Eddie's advice, I've been listening to radio 106.7. Then on another site, I pull up the live lyrics to the songs playing on the radio. Awesome! See the Lyrics Live by clicking here.
Sean has requested I listen to 99.7. Carrie suggested 97.1. I tune straight into the radio station through my computer while I'm working. How I love my days doing two things I love the most, photography and music!
On a side note: There have been a few people who have called my cell phone and left messages for me. *you know who you are* You can tell they are trying to speak clearly, so I can understand them. It's working, after listening to the message a few times, I'm able to pull the words through and get the message. Sweet!
I was watching TV friday night and my cell phone rang beside me. "dad dugan", it said on the banner. I had already been told by Sean that grandma was wanting them to spend the night to celebrate Sean's birthday..Without thinking, I flipped it open, "hey mom", waaa waaaa waaaa Sean and Damian coming over?
Am I bringing Damian over, I asked back. Yes, mom responded. Well, Eddie's cooking dinner, and seans at a birthday party and were waiting for him to call and let us know when to pick him up. I can bring them over then, is that ok? Yes, mom said again. Ok well, we'll call you back. Ok, Love you, said mom.
that was it.... I talked on the phone! :-)
My Son is a Teenager....Oh my!
Does this mean I'm getting OLD!? Ha...never!I'm back....haven't blogged lately, haven't felt like it. Every year around this time I seem to go into a bit of a depression funk. I can roll with the punches and take what life throws my way. Bring it! I always bounce back, the reason, my children!
So our lives as a family couldn't be farther off track from what the orginal plan was when he was born even if it had all been scripted in a really bad sci fi film, although that's one of my favorite channels :-)
We have faced and conquered such life altering obstacles, and I couldn't be more proud of how he is turning out, even if I had been given a book of directions on how to wade through the never ending road blocks.
Of course he came with no such book but I'm a smart woman. I knew from observing my own childhood experiences and the effects they had on my life, that there were influences and negative things I needed to get him away from.
I have poured my heart and soul into raising my boys to live a childhood free of ugliness, something I never had.
Sean just turned 13, he's growing like a weed, his voice is changing, he's turning into a young version of what he'll be as a man right before my eyes. It seems like only yesterday I was bringing him home as a fragile little bundle created from love for the first time.
I owe so much to my husband Eddie for loving my boy as his own since he was 6 years old. Eddie was adopted himself, so his love knows no blood boundaries.
Sean has great plans for his future and will be joining the Civil Air Patrol with the Rickenbacker Air Force Base as soon as we can save up the $175.00 it will cost for him to join. He'll start new experiences, make new friends, plan new goals, start paving his way to becoming a strong independent man.
I love you little man!
Mom
